The 6 Elements of You-Only Advice®.
The most important part of You-Only Advice® is that you are at the center of everything we do. You’d think this is normal practice amongst financial advisors, but unfortunately it’s not. So what does “You-Only” really mean?
Number One –
No Sales Commissions, just personalized advice
“…the way brokers and insurance agents are compensated often contains potential conflicts: a broker might receive a higher commission for recommending one investment over another”
We make sure our advice is aligned with your best interests. That means we do not sell you unnecessary financial products just to earn sales commissions. We never sell products or accept commissions. Your trust in us is far more important than a few extra dollars in our pocket.
We are independent. We have no corporate edict or cookie cutter plan or products to sell you. So we are free to build custom plans that are appropriate for your needs and your needs only.
Number Two –
Plans customized to your needs and goals
Number Three –
Certified Professionals only
Only a third of the 300,000 people who hold themselves out as financial advisors in the US are CFP® Professionals (CFP). The CFP® marks are the standard of excellence in our profession. Our financial planners hold or are working towards this certification. This means you’ll only have well-trained, committed people who are held to the high ethical fiduciary standard working with you (and we put it in writing).”
To attain the right to use the CFP® marks, an individual must satisfactorily fulfill the Education , Examination, Experience Ethics rand Continuing Education requirements of the CFP Board. More information is available by clicking here.
There are no hidden fees or arcane fine-print legal disclaimers for you to decode. To keep it simple, we charge a flat fee for our ongoing financial planning and investment management services. Our aim is to keep our fees as low as possible so you can keep more of what you make.
Number Four –
Clear, simple fee structure
Number Five –
Less Jargon, more clarity
We think Wall Street and the Insurance industry do a poor job of explaining really important things to people. We don’t want to add to that. We work hard to clarify terms and talk to our clients with as little jargon as possible. We supplement that with regular podcasts, newsletters, emails, events and guides to keep you as informed as you want to be.
Getting started on your financial journey is intimidating for many people. So we designed a streamlined system to get you going and regular check-ins to help you stay on track. In our first year working together, we will have a number of face-to-face (or screen-to-screen) meetings as we develop your personalized financial plan and implement our recommendations.
After our first year together, our clients have found that meeting once per year for a thorough review helps them know that they are on track. And while we are working behind the scenes for you throughout the year, we want you to contact us whenever you have a big life event or want help or information.
Our clients tell us they love knowing we are never too busy to answer their questions, and we take pride doing the level of work many other advisors avoid.
